The honorees of the 4th Annual Critics Choice Association Celebration of Latino Cinema and Television were announced and the Apple TV+ Series "Acapulco" will be bestowed the The Comedy Series Award.

Ben Odell, CEO of 3Pas Studios, talks about the challenge of evolving Spanish-language comedy and the risk taken by ViX with the production of ‘Y llegaron de noche’, a comedy that differs from what's usually produced in Mexico but aims to speak to that same audience.

ViX, the world's leading Spanish-language streaming service, announced that its new original series Y Llegaron de Noche, starring, produced, and directed by Eugenio Derbez, will premiere on October 4. The first two episodes will be available on the service's premium plan, and a new episode will be released every Friday. Additionally, the first episode will be available for free on ViX Gratis. Augusto Rovegno, SVP of Content at ViX, and Ben Odell, CEO of 3Pas Studios, spoke with Señal News about the series' premiere and teased some future projects under the first-look agreement between 3Pas Studios and ViX.

"When we decided to enter into our deal with ViX, one of the things we discussed was this standout project we wanted to create. It was a very bold venture. It's a period comedy series. We felt that this original story could be something different yet very interesting for our audience," Ben Odell, CEO of 3Pas Studios, expressed to PRODU.

3Pas Studios received 13 nominations for the 2024 Premios Produ, recognizing excellence in Spanish and Latin American productions. Among the 3Pas Studios projects nominated are Acapulco, De Viaje Con Los Derbez, P#t@s Redes Sociales, LOL, and Es Por Su Bien.

Apple TV+ has renewed the bilingual comedy series Acapulco for a fourth season, becoming one of few latinx-led TV shows to reach a fourth season.

The Imagen Foundation announced today the nominations for the 39th annual Imagen Awards. This year’s awards recognize an array of Latino talent with ground-breaking performances, storytelling, and powerful diverse programs. ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, announced today that its new original movie, ES POR SU BIEN, will premiere on June 21 on its premium plan. Consuelo Duval, Kate del Castillo, and Mónica Huarte star in the hilarious comedy that also features José Eduardo Derbez, Michael Ronda, and Sebastián García.
